Losing weight is not something that will just happen. You have to MAKE it happen. You may not like the thought of looking at what you are consuming each day. It will scare you. The truth often hurts. But it has to be done if you are to be successful. Following certain rules will help. Now, record what you eat.

Write down what you eat- Yiou are going to be amazed at this. Everybody, but everybody, that is overweight refuses to admit that they eat too much. The story goes that hardly anything passes their lips throughout the day and they cannot imagine why they are so overweight. The harsh reality is that you DO eat too much. It is not because you are a glutton or that you don't care, but you are taking in too many calories. Period.

Get wise and do yourself a favor. Get a notepad and a pencil and start writing down what you eat and the calories it represents. Recording what you eat, when you eat it, how you were feeling before and after a meal and any other emotions will increase self-awareness. It will help to solidify in your mind just what you are doing. It will become a reality. This will enforce that you are conscious of when and why overeating occurs. Writing anything down solidifies it in a way that is more concrete than thinking about it. It will keep you focused on your goals.

Your weight loss program will be so much easier when you begin to understand the calorific level of your daily intake.
